National parks protect natural environments representative of Canada's heritage. Aquatic environments are a very important part of our natural and cultural heritage. They play an undeniable role in shaping the identity of our land, a fact reflected in the splendour of the rivers, lakes, wetlands and coasts associated with our National Parks.
Canada currently has 39 national parks, with 9 other regions proposed for protection in the future.
This section gives you the opportunity to explore the aquatic habitats in the parks.
On the next page you must click on the helicopter to start navigating. Once in the air, click on any of the
province landing sites to access the parks found within its borders. When you return to
the national map, the region you just viewed will be temporarily disabled until you visit
one of the other provinces.
