These frogs are found in the cold waters of northern British Columbia. They share similar features and are closely associated with the wood frog and the red-legged frog. Both red-legged and spotted frogs have a red-orange colour on their ventral surfaces, but the spotted frog's pigment is more distinct and looks as though it was painted on!
