Brief synopsis of current research:
Long-term study of the structure of aquatic macroinvertebrate communities of the Grand River, from Belwood Lake (the Shand Dam), to West Montrose, with emphasis on:
- determining longitudinal changes in structure (abundances,diversity, richness, etc.) as related to physical & environmental factors
- responses of the communities to environmental stressors (low flows, elevated temperatures, associated with "drought")
- response of invertebrate communities to stocking of trout in these reaches of the river
