Brief synopsis of current research:
Controls on the water chemistry in the carbonate rock aquifer, southern Manitoba as it relates to a supply of fresh water for rural communities. Water chemistry of thermal springs and salt springs. Surface water-groundwater interaction.

View of salt spring discharge site in central Manitoba. The high salinity kills off any nearby vegitation, creating a large salt flat in an otherwise heavily forested area. The red colours are iron oxides precipitating from the water, where as the white is salt. View of a discharge vent of a salt spring. Note the large green mats of cyanobacteria growing in the spring water.
