Brief synopsis of current research:
My research focuses on ecology and evolution of water beetles with an emphasis on Hydradephaga. I am particularly interested by immatures which remains pratically unknown worlwide. Over the years I have developped a system of analysis which incorporate detailed chaetaxic analysis. Data from immatures are then used to reconsider (test) existing classifications which are currently mainly based on adult characteristics. I am also interested by the study of epicuticular hydrocarbons both from a chemotaxonomic and biological perspective.
