Bamfield Marine Station

In 1972, five western Canadian universities established the Bamfield Marine Station in the village of Bamfield on Vancouver Island. Research facilities and technical assistance are provided year round, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in marine science. Public education programs for schools and interested groups are also available. A library and a museum of invertebrates, fishes, algae and terrestrial plants is available as is a fleet of small boats. Accommodation for visitors consists of eight cabins, four studio suites, bunkhouses, and a dormitory.
