St. Lawrence Centre (SLC)

St. Lawrence Centre

Established in 1988 and operated by Environment Canada in Montreal, Quebec, the SLC is the only federal research centre devoted solely to the St. Lawrence River ecosystem. Because of the work of the SLC's researchers, it is often called upon by government and non-government organizations, riverside communities, and scientific associations to make recommendations and aid in management of major drainage basins around the world. The focus of the SLC is to protect and conserve the St. Lawrence ecosystem.
