St. Andrew's Biological Station from the air

The SABS, operated by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), was established in 1908 - making it Canada's oldest marine research laboratory. Research is carried out on aquaculture, oceanography, the sustainability of fisheries and their habitats, stock assessments and the biology of commercially harvested fish and invertebrates such as lobster and crab. The SABS is a part of a network of fisheries research and educational institutions in the area including the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, the Atlantic Salmon Federation and the St. Andrew's campus of the New Brunswick Community College.
