Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF)

Atlantic Salmon Federation

Since 1948, the ASF has been trying to restore the Atlantic salmon runs to the rivers of eastern Canada. This non-profit organization promotes conservation and proper management of the Atlantic salmon and its habitat. Along with government and industry, the ASF works to reduce the impacts of hydro-electric projects, forestry, agriculture, aquaculture, and mining on salmon populations. It also works to determine the causes of low salmon survival and to find solutions. Located in St. Andrew's, New Brunswick, and also in Calais, Maine, this international organization carries out educational programs through its publication of the Atlantic Salmon Journal, conferences, displays, awareness campaigns and media releases.
